    Chainsaw sharpening

    Bought one of these little suckers. I thought worth a try for the price

    I was looking at those the other day but I wasn't sure how it would work sharpening the bits that require the particular angle (groove) and diameter of a round file.

    Let us know how you go with it.

    Theory is you lock the chain in push down on the case base and run the saw for a few seconds, maybe two spins. i shall report back after use

    Mmmm downside is that it would only grind the tops of the teeth and wear the chain out a lot quicker than a drop type grinder that works on the face of the tooth.

    I've been using a file in the drill method for about a year now. Works fantastic and is very fast, accurate and cheap. The trick to is you have to have the drill in reverse gear to make it work correctly, you can't simply turn the file around.
