Nice one - how long does it extend the life of food for?

A few tips. If vac packing soft meat, like sausages or rissoles, freeze first. If doing pre-prepared meals like casseroles etc, freeze in disposable takeaway containers, available from supermarkets, and then vac. pack.

All well and good to buy fresh but when you are two weeks away from the nearest shop, and are on a 6 week trip, then you need to think ahead.

    Love my Aldi vacuum packer.

Aldi sells one? I better keep a look out for that! And thanks for the tip. Apart from keeping food longer, they should also help keep the fridge cleaner too.
