Freemaan's waterhole 4wd training ground run

I went out today with Steve and a few of the boys to suss out the training ground area at freemans waterhole NSW.
Bar Steve, the rest of us hadn't been there before so it was on our list of things to do when the planets aligned for everyone to have a day off at the same time
The motivation to check out the site, have a little fun and not break anything.

Steve managed to test out the sliders on the ranger with a thud.
The 80's land cruiser learned that if your dash lights all start flashing, just thump the alternator.
My nephew figured how to get a wheel up on his hilux as per the video thumbnail below.
I now know that in some situations, traction control beats a diff lock.
Some guy we met also came to the stark realisation that when you're on your own, don't do anything stupid.
He was stuck there over night after swamping his jackeroo.

If you're wondering, the training grounds are a good way to spend a few hours.

    top day had by all.

    Brett

Steve, thank Kaz for the pics.

yeah, good day Andy. Good for some fun but making it home in one piece. plenty there to try at you're own pace. Easy was the go for the day. no one wants to bugger their cars

Keen to get the mod done now Jamo.

Tbh I expected to walk it up with the RDL on but as you can see in the video, once that front wheel lost traction it only wanted to go sideways.
With the TC on , it cruised up it. Very impressed with the traction control .
Can only imagine the improvement of being able to use both.

Did you get the harness or do the mod yourself ?

You'll have to come along for a run Gary

Freemans is a great area for a play with a bit of everything for everyone.

Ran a trip through there a while back which I'll have to dig up some photos from. Also did Gap road on the same day and which is a bit further up off Palmers Rd.

Just need to be careful of some of the mud holes around there as they can be deceiving.

RJ. I'd be interested in your pics from Palmers Rd if you can find them.
I'm trying to keep any eye out for some tracks that wont break anything but are fun and challenging enough to make it worth while.
Does palmers rd come of the north or south side ?
