A favourite of ours is the Buckland Valley with plenty of riverside campsites and lots of tracks to explore enjoying spectacular views from Mt Selwyn to the Mt Buffalo range (also worth exploring) and beyond.

The Wonnangatta Valley is a popular spot but can get a bit busy at times yet, Butcher Country can provide a lot of serenity and great camping.
    Cheers,

    Frank

If you haven't grown up by age 60, you don't have to.

We have camped in the Buckland Valley on a couple of trips and also Wonnangatta Valley. I do some research around Butcher Country, not heard of that one that I recall.

Why would I buy something for $10 when I can make it for $20

Caledonia Valley in the VHC is beautiful if you want a challenge.

Well i was going to suggest the BUCKLAND also camped there many a time.

BUTCHER country, i have not been to for a long time. There were some hard trks from memory.

Have you considered the WALHALLA area a lot of history there and some good camp spots.

No matter what you will need to get in early before EASTER to mark your spot. It's total bedlem.

I could suggest other areas but thinking about your ten days off and travel time.

Have a good trip and enjoy

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Easter is going to be a bit of a problem to deal with and whatever the plan I don't think I will be in a popular area for Easter, it will either be the start or the end of the trip and I will use those days for travel and keep as far off the beaten track as I can.
