    Moon Pictures

The sunrise / sunset picture thread got me thinking that we don't have a thread for your pictures of the moon. So here are a few of mine from over the years that are either of the moon or feature the moon. Please post up yours as well.

After the sunset at Ayers Rock we saw the Moon rise over the rock, pretty cool experience, especially as 90% of the people bolted for camp as soon as the sun had set.

Stairway to the Moon at Broome, a highly over rated experience, but got some OK photos.

Chambers Pillar a few days before full moon, a wonderful spot and experience.

Lake Gairdner with the full moon rising, this was also the night of a total eclpise and a blood moon

Batton Hill, from Batton Hill camp on the North end of the Simpson Desert.

This was the full moon setting in the Simpson Desert somewhere along Madigans Line.

    Cheers Andrew
Why would I buy something for $10 when I can make it for $20

    Great Pictures AJ.
Unfortunately mine come out with way too much contrast between the moon(like a flood light) and the foreground dark.
Can you share some of your settings pls.?

Auto The camera for these ones would have been either on full auto or Landscape setting, that's about as much as I know how to do with a camera.

I feel your pain with the contrast thing, I get that in a lot of my pictures as well. I take lots of really crap pictures, fortunately I still take enough to get a few good ones from time to time, more by good luck than good management.

My camera is a Nikon D70S with a Tamron 18-200 Lens if anyone is interested.

Thanks Andrew, Mines a Fujifilm, Finepix S Digital, with the factory lens.
I don't think I can change the lens on mine, unlike the Canon 35mm., I had before it.

Don`t take a great deal of Moon photos but here`s one of a "Supermoon" back in June 2013. 1/2 Sec exposure F5.6 & ISO 500. Sun was setting at the same time.

Splitrock Dam AJ. Driving home from Tamworth, saw the moon rising & thought a pic of it coming up over the water would look good.
