We leave S.E Qld May 1st for 3 weeks holidays. 2 days or so at Dubbo to do zoo thing and then we were to hit the Vic high country with friends They have had to pull out and and I'm thinking AJ' silo tour into S.A. Might be our "plan b" as I wouldn't hit the VHC on our own.
You have to give it to AJ to inspire you to checkout places far from the madding crowd.
    Well done mate!

Good report. I have driven the area/region three times to date, love it and its surrounds. Have been bogged once, single car but a snatch strap job all good. Only time i have used the ALDI TREDS worked well getting a NAVARA out stuck in sand. Yes a great training ground.

Looking forward to the fourth trip, whenever and seeing those silos painted

    Once again, a great report.

I have been to Serviceton and the area marked as a prison was used as one according to the tour guide.
The conducted tour included the upstairs at the time. All for a donation towards the restoration of the building
If you wait out front of the Railway Station one of the residents usually appears and gives a conducted tour of the Station.
There used to be a lot more Railway track laid out, either side of the main lines too. (Sidings and relief run-arounds.)

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed the report.

Robert, I was vaguely aware that impromptu tours of the railway station sometimes happened, we spent around an hour there and didn't see anyone unfortunately. Looking at more of the insides would have been great.

    Maybe next time

    Cheers Andrew
Why would I buy something for $10 when I can make it for $20

    Thanks AJ.
Great report, been watching the news about how the artist has finished his commission for painting the silos.

We will be making sure we see these on our next trip south in April.

    Cheers Gavin

It was highlighted in last Sunday's Landline program on the ABC, it usually gets repeated the following Saturday afternoon. It was a great show.
    Cheers,

Thanks for linking me to the report
I know the exact spot you got bogged on the shore line of Lake Albacutya
We had some trouble there too, I managed to keep momentum but my mate in his GQ got a bit stuck.

I imagine that spot has caught a few people out, it sure was soft
