    And I would assume the dongle was hard wired to the antenna. Similar gains were possible when you had blue tick phones that had a port to connect an antenna directly to them.

    Yep, if there is reception around, your phone may pick it up, but these cradles ( especially as they are passive ) do NOTHING for added reception.

    An issue that has come to light recently is cracking issues, near the firewall I think, from ones fitted with a bullbar.

    Aahh, so the 15amps was after the MPPT Redarc. I've rarely got more than the rated current out of a panel, but I only use a PWM controller.
    I'm lucky to get 15A out of my 3 panels....340W.

    I never test under load. As said, too many variables to get a reliable answer.
    It only takes 10 secs or so for the voltage to stabilise after say running a fridge to get a pretty reliable no load...

    A battery is a battery.....and whether it's an aux getting a constant charge or the cranker getting it should make no difference. Most crankers get 6 yrs plus and no reason the aux can't do the same....
