Just about forgot to post this....

After the hassles of Christmas 2012 , all the driving from Perth to Bunbury and seeing 4 lots of familys etc i decided that 2013 Chrissy was going to be different.

Lisa and i booked from Christmas day till Dec 30th off work and camping on Rottnest island.

We had a blast, they had upgraded the camp grounds , that was a pleasent suprise.
We had a week of snorkling and relaxing. Not a great deal to do there but snorkel, relax, unwind and sunbath.
Perfect way to unwind after a stressful 2013
Well first off here is the Video.....

Thanks,

Yeah i used to go over all the time in the 80's as a child on my uncles boat then once i hit teenage life chasin girls, cars etc i stopped going. Wasnt until couple years ago i took my girlfreind over and forgot what i had been missing. Alot of Perth people have no idea what we have right on our door step. Sooooooo nice! I though Perth beaches were nice but rotto, the sands whiter, finer and water is clearer. Also because of the leewin current, rottnest gets tropical fish that you just dont see in Perth. Love it!
I just worked out a deal with a tour company for 5 free double passes for me and my girlfreind so alot more trips over coming up in the next few months

Good question, not to sure, only people that live there are some of the workers. My guess would be around 50-100 max.

Cool,

I bet you noticed a few changes since the 80's!

When myself and Tourn were coming back from Rottnest this clever bloke jump off the ferry from the top deck, the ferry was chockers as we were going up the Swan River. Everyone went to the side to watch him swim to shore and the ferry started to lean over. The captain quickly asked everyone to move back to there original positions. Once the fella reached the shore the cops were there to met him. We did about 3 loops on the river from memory with the captain keeping an eye on him.

A memorable trip indeed.

Cheers

That is one of my favorite places to go to when I go over to the sisters place in Perth, the girls learned to snorkel over there, I would love to spend a week or seven on the island
I have only been able to do day trips due to family commitments, but next time ,I hope there is a next time, I think a week should be the minimum
Great spot
Cheers Graham

Do it Graham, a day trip is good but nothing like waking up on rotto and sunsets over the ocean at rotto. I would love to do a few weeks one time soon!
